“When will this night end?”
Most guys are going to think that any kind of hookup is a good one. Unfortunately, that’s not always going to be the case. As with any kind of date, there’s always going to be a chance that even when you’re getting together with a woman just for sex, something might go wrong. If you’re ever unlucky enough to have it happen to you, you’re probably not going to know how to proceed. Do you bail? Try and talk it out? Schedule another date? If you’re not sure what to do in the event that your fling goes south, just keep reading. We’ve written it all out so that you’ll be covered.
How Bad is Bad?
The first thing you need to do is assess how bad things actually are. If it’s something simple like someone spilled wine on her dress, you can probably recover. On the other hand, if she started drinking hard the moment she arrived and now she’s puking her guts out in the ladies room, it might be time to wonder if it’s really worth it. Ultimately, it’s all on how badly you want to get laid. However, if she’s gotten cold feet, you’re obviously going to strike out. She might try to pretend that she’s got an emergency she has to deal with in order to cover up the fact that she’s got cold feet, which might be easy to see through. If you can tell she’s just not feeling it, chalk it up as a loss and move on. If you think she might still be interested and the issue is a minor one (like a wardrobe malfunction or a bad meal) you may just be able to salvage the date.
Did It Turn Bad Before or After?
“Worst sex I ever had”
How you’re going to recover from a bad hookup depends on just when things turned bad-did it happen before sex or after (or, if you’re really unlucky, during)? If it happened before it will be easy enough for you to walk away without having invested too much time or money. If it happens after, well, at least you got laid, right? It’s not unusual for the morning after to be awkward or strained, so all you really need to do is get yourself out of that kind of situation as quickly you can. And if things went wrong DURING sex, all you can really do is either try to finish (if she’s still willing) or just get up, get dressed, go home and then try to pretend that none of it ever happened.
Was It Something You Did?
If you were in the middle of hooking up and the reason it went wrong was something you did, you can always try to recover by apologizing. She might be willing to forgive you, providing that what you did wasn’t too bad. If you insulted the way she looks naked, for example, there’s probably no way you’re ever going to recover from that. But if you did something awkward like make a bad joke or spill a drink on her, she’ll probably be willing to look past that as long as you make an effort to be apologetic.
